Pet Adoption
In the United States today there are an incredible number of homeless dogs and cats. There are an estimated 70 million stray cats alone. The average number of litters a non-spayed dogs produces is one a year, which is 4-6 puppies. This means that there are many animals that do not have homes. Animal shelters give some of these animals a home and try to find owners for them. People need to give these animals homes by adopting them. Rather than finding a pet through a breeder people should go to adoption centers to find them. Adoption is also not as costly as buying your pet from a breeder. All pets need a home. Owned cats and dogs generally live longer, healthier, and happier lives than those of strays. Adoption is the first option.
