Evolution (position paper presentation response)

I really enjoyed the presentation Shelby Jordan did about evolution taught in public schools. She wrote about how the public schools only teach the theory of evolution. Because this is the only creation story taught in public schools, students believe it is the truth, about how the earth and people came about. I personally relate to this position paper because I have gone to Catholic school all my life, before I went to public school for high school. Therefore, in my pervious school the only theory I was taught was that God created everything. I think it will be interesting to learn about the theory of evolution because I don't know a lot about it. But, I think that the theory of God's creation should also be taught in public schools. This way students will learn about both theory's and they can chose which one to believe in. Especially high school students have the ability to make this decision on their own. Also, this way one theory is not forced into the students to believe. Even though it would be interesting to learn about the theory of evolution, I firmly believe that the theory of evolution is not the truth, and God has created everything.
